It’s that time again, the most wonderful time of the year. Autumn is in the air and with it comes sweater weather, pumpkin spiced everything and shorter days (more sleep!). You may be thinking that vampy lips are a must for fall, and although they are, nude lips are a staple in anyone’s makeup bag. Nude lips are a perfect way to embrace the transition into fall. They help balance out a dark smoky look and are perfect for day or night. With so many nude lip products to choose from, I’ve narrowed down a few that are perfect for all occasions.
Hourglass has always been a go to brand mostly due to their ambient lighting powders. Recently, they came out with new lipsticks that, as soon as I saw them, I had to try out. The Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Refillable Lipstick is refillable and ultra luxe looking, these lipsticks are so creamy and hydrating. I’ll Never Stop is a great neutral nude lip, not too pink not too yellow. I’m not a fan of nude colours that make me look like a zombie; I’m happy to report that this does not do that.
Marc Jacobs Beauty lip gloss formula has to be one of the best. Not only is it long lasting and hydrating but it also doesn’t give you that weird gunk on your lips. The Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss in Sugar Sugar is a great nude lipgloss for every skin tone and goes really well with any eye look. The medium pink base is perfect for wearing over liner, lipstick or on its own.
Charlotte Tilbury is known for so many fantastic products. One product that is a cult favourite is the Lip Cheat Re-Shape & Re-Size Lip Liner in Pillow Talk. I know, you must be asking, why this liner? Well, there are a number of reasons why this liner is a must for fall. First, it’s a nude lip many people can pull off. More than a few skin tones can easily use this liner to line or fill in the lips and wear on its own or in combination with another product.
Glossier has some of the best lip balms I’ve ever tried. When I initially picked them up Glossier just started shipping to Canada so I opted for the Glossier Balm dotcom lip trio. I’m in love with these blams; they’re simple and effective. Although this is not a lipstick it’s a great idea to always have a good lip balm with you. It pairs well with so many other products. If you’re looking for a simple glossy nude lip with just liner, this is a great option. I also love using this on my lips before applying lip primer and liquid lipstick to hydrate my lips. So far my favourite is Coconut (smells like Christmas cookies).
Anastasia Beverly Hills has some of the best products I’ve ever tried. Their highlight palettes, brow products and eye shadow formulas are fantastic. Another product I love, and cant get enough of has been their liquid lipsticks. Do any of you remember the start of the matte liquid lipstick craze? How did we live before? These matte liquid lipsticks are such a staple and her nude shades don’t disappoint. Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Ashton has been my go-to nude lip colour, wearing it on it’s own or mixed with a liner.
